Meeting on 10-11-06

Absent: Reds and Yankees

Present: A’s, Braves, Cardinals, Cubs, Marlins, Pirates, Orioles, Red Sox, Royals, Tigers and Brewers

1. Approved the minutes from the 8-14-06 meeting
2. Treasurers report – About $8,000 will be left after final bills are paid. We discussed the fee for next year, it will depend on a number of factors including field availability. Also discussed putting the game dates on the checks to the Umps to make it easier for them to determine which games they are being paid for.
3. Committee Reports – nothing to report
4. Old business – none to report
5. New business
1. Additional league fees due? $50 per player, no real due date set. Treasurer will follow up with teams
2. Yarmouth has not been paid. The check appears to be lost in the mail. Treasurer will follow up and take care of.
3. Cubs team changing to either the Astros or Dodgers
4. Indians team formed as a new team. Unanimously voted to accept them as a new team provided they give us the $500 deposit required. We discussed the divisions and we may change the divisions by moving certain teams between divisions.
5. Westbrook will be the home field for the Royals.
6. Draft of rule changes to be presented at the next meeting. Jim may e-mail suggested rule changes to the league.
7. Night games – becoming too expensive at the Oaks. We will probably have to limit the number of night games for this years schedule. We discussed limiting the night games to a maximum of 6.
8. Voted to purchase T-shirts for the league Champions. Vote passed 10 yes, 1 no.
